KY-Sen: New SUSA Poll Shows No Movement for Fischer

SurveyUSA (5/9-11, likely voters, 5/3-5 in parens):

Bruce Lunsford (D): 41 (41)

Greg Fischer (D): 23 (22)

Others: 30 (32)

Undecided: 6 (4)

(MoE: ±3.9%)

The last several rounds of polling showed Fischer making up substantial ground, climbing from 6% at the end of March to 22% at the start of May.  However, it seems like he may have hit a plateau with only one week left before primary day.

Primary: 5/20.

  1. Ugg.

Bruce Lunsford is going to be the Democratic nominee to face Mitch McConnell.

The worst Democrat vs the worst Republican.

It makes me want to puke.

Let Lunsford dump his money into his egocentric quest and watch him lose.

This was such a great opportunity. If we had at least had a decent canidate we could have won this seat. We have so many Kentucky pols that stood a better chance then Lunsford but all passed or were pushed out.

    Ugg.

  2. Horne or Fischer could have won this race. There’s just no way Lunsford does. The unions that all endorsed Lunsford should be ashamed. Why would they back a Republican for the Democratic nomination?

  3. Lunsford has accomplished exactly what he set out to do—make sure McConnell keeps this seat in the Republican column.

Lunsford’s endorsement of Republican Ernie Fletcher in the 2003 KY-Governor race is not his only partisan move.

Between 1995 and 2000, Lunsford donated over $40,000 to Republicans while donating $11,750 to Democrats during that time period.

More recently, from 2004 through 2006 Lunsford donated over $5,000 to Republicans including a $1,000 donation to the Republican State Party.

  4. That 30% is what stands between Fischer and victory. Let’s hope some of those candidates realise they can’t win and are prepared to endorse Fischer.
